Trauma Services

Traumatic events such as accidents, natural disasters, violence or aggression, and unpredictable change, can happen at the drop of a hat. The physical and psychological consequences of trauma exposure can be frightening and overwhelming. Without appropriate support, trauma can cause significant disruption to individuals, workplaces, schools, and community groups.

Kristen provides a trauma management service both in New Zealand and Australia. She can deploy on-site to help coordinate a trauma management response or support your organisation virtually. Support includes:

  • An immediate response.
  • Management consultation: information and guidance to managers about how to support those who have been exposed to trauma.
  • On-site or virtual counselling: focussed on psychoeducation, normalisation, and advice on self-care.
  • Referral: if ongoing support is needed (e.g., Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) Kristen will arrange a referral to an appropriate mental health providers in the employee’s local area.

The purpose of trauma management is to reduce disruption after a traumatic event, both for affected individuals and the workplace. Effective support after trauma can facilitate recovery, enabling affected individuals to return to usual activities as soon as possible.

Kristen draws on twenty years of experience working with the military, emergency services, government and NGOs, to provide a trauma management service. Depending on the type of trauma, Kristen draws on a group of professionals to assist her.

Contact Kristen if you want to know more about her trauma-management service and how she can assist you after a crisis.
