Private Practice

Kristen is a Registered Psychologist with 20 years of experience.

Kristen operates a small private practice from her home. She believes in creating a safe and nurturing environment for her clients. By having a home practice Kristen nurture a sense of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga with her clients. In a safe and trusting environment, meaningful change and healing can occur.

Kristen practices in a trauma-informed way and approaches wellbeing holistically using Te Whare Tapa Wha as a framework. Kristen is open-minded and values a feedback-informed approach to therapy.

Kristen draws on different therapeutic modalities in her practice, including:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
  • Trauma-Informed Care and
  • Schema Therapy
  • EMDR (weekend 1)
