Growth Mindsets

Our world is changing really quickly! Technology and globalisation have made sure of that.

Our children live different lives to when we grew up. Forts are now made on Minecraft, trees are designed rather than climbed, and text conversations can disconnect people rather than connect them.

Not surprisingly, today’s youth need a different set of skills to flourish and thrive in this new world.

At Wellbeing Aotearoa, we have designed a growth-mindset model to help children and families succeed in the 21st century.

Our growth-mindset model seeks to educate students about their brain. The model also allows for an understanding of how it feels to learn and what to do when learning gets stressful. The model provides specific tools to enable deeper learning and growth to occur. We base our model on neuroscience, positive psychology, trauma-informed education and educational psychology.

“Take care of our children. Take care of what they hear, take care of what they see, take care of what they feel. For how the children grow, so will be the shape of Aotearoa” – Dame Whina Cooper [1895 – 1994]
